1st Edition ITLS for the Emergency Care Provider Online Instructor Update and Provider Courses are now Live!

We are excited to share that the 1st edition ITLS for the Emergency Care Provider Online Instructor Update course is now available. Additionally, the instructor materials are now available to ITLS Chapters and Training Centres to begin offering the 1st edition provider courses taught by instructors who have completed the 1st edition instructor update course. Details for these opportunities are below.

New for the 1st Edition Instructor Update

Upon completing the online instructor update, attendees must provide a copy of their course completion certificate to their chapter coordinator. This is done to verify that chapter teaching requirements have been fulfilled as part of 1st edition instructor update requirements. Once requirements have been verified, chapters will issue 1st Edition Instructor Update Recertification cards.
For chapter coordinators, the 1st Edition Instructor Update has been added to the CMS system for enrollment and issuing of 1st Edition Instructor Update Course Completion certificates. This information can be located on the course roster page under the CAPCE Course Number column.

1st Edition Instructor Materials

The instructor materials, including the instructor/coordinator guide, scenarios, exams, skill sheets, and PowerPoint slides, are now available for chapter coordinators.
Access to these materials can be found on the Chapter and Trainer Center Administration Portal via this link or through the “1st Edition Instructor Materials for Chapter Coordinators” button below. Chapter Coordinators will need to log in with the email address associated with their chapter coordinator role before being able to access instructor materials.

9th Edition Instructor and Provider Update

The 9th edition instructor update will soon no longer be made available through the ITLS LMS system with the release of the online 1st Edition Instructor Update Course.
The 9th edition course will remain available for offering and teaching until December 31, 2026. Beginning January 1, 2027, all 9th edition courses will be sunsetted.
Sales for the online 9th edition provider materials through Pearson and the ITLS Bookstore will sunset on July 1, 2026. Please plan accordingly for any remaining 9th edition courses scheduled to happen through the remainder of the 2026 calendar year.
