ITLS High Threat Provider Course

Tuesday & Wednesday, November 12-13, 2019
8:00 am – 5:00 pm

The ITLS High Threat course addresses the unique challenges of providing care in a high threat environment, centrally designed around the MARCH algorithm with the military or civilian high threat provider in mind. The course ensures compliance with TCCC and C-TECC guidelines. The High Threat foundation emphasizes hands-on instruction in elements of MARCH with integration into patient scenarios, including MCI and casualty collection point scenarios, as well as lessons from the most recent military conflicts and civilian terrorist events.

Eligibility: Open to all providers who are EMT or national equivalent; 68W or military equivalent; or have an operational need for TCCC-AC or TECC level training. Students receive an ITLS High Threat Provider certification upon completion.

Slap the Cap: A Comprehensive Capnography Workshop

Wednesday, November 13
8:00 am – 4:30 pm

This interactive workshop focuses on capnography as an integral skill that should be used in every patient scenario, with value far beyond just a tool to confirm airway placement. Led by capnography expert Bob Page, the 1-day course is designed to prepare the participant with the knowledge and skill to effectively incorporate capnography into courses and practice. It will utilize lecture, real case reviews, hands-on skills practice, plus anecdote-based instructor tips to demonstrate the benefits and limitations of this key patient assessment tool.

Eligibility: Open to all levels of providers; no prerequisites. This is not a certification course.

ITLS Duty to Respond Train the Trainer Workshop

Wednesday, November 13
1:00 pm – 5:15 pm

ITLS Duty to Respond is a 1-day hands-on practical trauma management course designed for first responders who have a duty to respond to emergencies. The course focuses on initial patient evaluation and critical interventions required to manage a patient until the next level of care arrives. This 4-hour train-the-trainer workshop will show current instructors how to deliver the course to providers. The workshop will introduce the educational principles and materials used in the ITLS Duty to Respond course. Registration fee includes the ITLS DTR Pocket Guide.

Eligibility: Open to all ITLS Instructors and First Aid or Emergency Medical Responder instructors. This is not a certification course.

Cost: $39 – with 2-day conference | $59 – Workshop only


ITLS 9th Edition Instructor Update

Thursday, November 14
10:30 am – 12:00 pm

Current ITLS instructors can renew their instructor status and learn the latest updates from the new 9th edition provider manual (publication in Fall 2019), including the revised assessment sequence. The 9th Edition Instructor Update will work through the textbook on a chapter-by-chapter basis to provide a comprehensive outline of the key components and changes of the new edition. The Instructor Update will be required for all instructors to complete before they are eligible to teach from the 9th edition. The textbook is not included in the registration fee.

Eligibility: Open to all current ITLS Instructors. Participants will receive an ITLS Instructor Recertification card upon successful completion.

Cost: $39 – all registrants


ITLS Leadership Forum

Thursday, November 14
1:15 pm – 3:15 pm

The ITLS Leadership Forum focuses on cultivating the key leadership skills that help you accelerate the growth and development of your ITLS program worldwide. This targeted workshop explores best practices and new strategies for teaching ITLS and administering ITLS programs. The Forum includes Q & A to address your own ideas, concerns and suggestions for the future. NOTE: No continuing education credit is provided for this program.

Eligibility: Open to all ITLS Chapter and Training Centre Medical Directors, Coordinators, program administrators and other leaders. All registrants are welcome to attend.

No charge to attend.
